About
Leadership
As an institution founded on Quaker principles, Whittier College has historically sought a committed leadership body that encompasses diversity in thought, culture, and experience, that works to attain consensus in all matters, and that is composed of a membership marked by breadth and depth of field expertise.
The governing body for Whittier College is its Board of Trustees, whose primary responsibility is to provide strategic guidance and oversight for the broader fiduciary obligations and institutional affairs of both Whittier College and Whittier Law School.
The senior administration for Whittier College, which includes the president, four vice presidents, the dean of students, and the dean of Whittier Law School, oversee the daily operations of the College, which includes setting and executing short- and long-term institutional strategies and policy in the areas of finance and business administration, academic affairs, admission and aid, advancement, and student life.
The advisory councils for Whittier College are composed of critical representatives from the alumni and current parent populations, all of whom contribute important vision, expertise, and dedication to ensure the success of the College, its programs, and its outreach. The two councils are the Alumni Association Board and the Poet Council.
