Taking Action: Executing Our Commitment
To fulfill our agreement to the American Colleges and Universities Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) , Whittier College must accomplish the following:

* The Climate Commitment Task Force has recommended that Whittier College adopt two of the seven “tangible actions” proscribed by the ACUPCC:
- An energy-efficient appliance purchasing policy, requiring purchase of Energy Star certified products in all areas for which ratings exist.
- Participation in the Waste Minimization component of the national RecycleMania competition, and implementation of three or more associated measures to reduce waste, such as replacing production of paper materials with online alternatives.
