Message from the Chair

Over 200 students currently major in business administration, making the department the largest on campus. Business administration, in itself, is a multidisciplinary subject, combining accounting, finance, information systems, international business, management, marketing, and operations together into one cohesive major. These are presented in a liberal arts environment with sensitivity to the arts, communications, and the social and hard sciences. Whittier's students are instilled with competence in each of these disciplines, while learning how business relates to humanistic values and global society. Having a good understanding of the disciplines of business, as well as current industries, students are equipped to embark on rewarding careers in businesses and non-profits, alike.

The Department of Business Administration is proud to offer students the major as part of a broad liberal arts education. Consequently, a number of students choose to take advantage of the opportunity to double major or earn a minor in another field.
