Computer Lab

CAS has over ten new PC computers available for student usage. Printing costs 10 cents per page.

Our computer lab is equipped with the following programs:

AccuTrack
AccuTrack provides CAS with a dependable way to track our students’ progress. Its benefits include attendance tracking, appointments management, traffic analysis, feedback collection, demographics query, and much more. All of our student visitors are required to check in and out through AccuTrack using their Whittier College ID so that we can continuously learn how to improve our services and programs.

ChemBasic
ChemBasic is the type of macro programming that allows our chemistry students the ability to control operations within ACD/Labs, offers access to input and output of meta-variables, and provides logical control flow.

Microsoft Office
All of the standard Microsoft Office programs, such as Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word, are installed on each of our computers. To prevent the spread of viruses and overloading our hard drive, we ask that students bring their own computer disks to save their work. If they do not bring a disk, CAS will provide one temporarily.

SkillsBank
Many faculty who teach the first-year writing seminars incorporate SkillsBank assignments into their course syllabi. This product is a comprehensive resource for diagnosing and remediating students’ basic skills in Reading, Language, and Writing. It also covers Basic Mathematics, Intermediate Mathematics, and Information Skills.

SPSS
Our students in PSYC/SOC 314: Statistics use SPSS for conducting statistical analyses, manipulating data, and generating tables and graphs that summarize data.
