Student Eligibility

STANDARD ELIGIBILITY

To meet eligibility requirements, a student must:

  • be enrolled full-time at Whittier College;
  • be a second-semester freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior;
  • be in good academic standing (overall and last semester grade point averages are both 2.00 or above); and
  • have a schedule that will allow the necessary time (days/hours) to devote to an internship and a means of transportation to the internship location.

TIME COMMITMENT

At Whittier College an inernship combines experience and academic reflection. Most internships are approximately 12 weeks in length during the fall or spring semesters and between 12 and 15 weeks during summer. Positions are usually part-time (10-20 hours per week) during the academic year, and some summer internships may be full-time (40 hours per week).
