Education: B.A. in Dramatic Arts and History, University of Wisconsin-Parkside; M.F.A. in Acting, University of Virginia.
Courses: Introduction to Acting, Scene & Monologue Study, Styles of Acting, Actor’s Lab, Voice & Movement I, Improvisation for the Classroom, Fundamentals of Stage Direction, Introduction to Theatre, Play Analysis & Criticism, Chicano/Latino Theatre, Freshman Writing Seminar.
Gil has trained under some of the country’s most respected theatre artists including: Sabin Epstien, Richard Warner, Bob Chapel, commedia dell’arte with Bob Berky, voice with Andrew Wade of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and Richard Armstrong of the Roy Hart Theatre. Gil continues to direct and act professionally and has many credits for the stage, film, television, as well as in commercials.
Founding member and Co-Artistic Director of the Remnant Theatre Company. Gil is the Circuit Three Coorinator for Region VIII of the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival (KC/ACTF), a member of ATHE (Association for Theatre in Higher Education), SAG (Screen Actors Guild) and an Associate Member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers (SSDC).
