Your Award Notification
Financial Aid Award Letters
Incoming Students:
- The Office of Financial Aid will begin processing award packages after the student has been admitted to the college, a CSS Profile and FAFSA application have been received, and if needed, any other documentation.
- An award letter will be generated as soon as possible and sent to the permanent address on file. In addition to the letter, there will be a calculation sheet and a list of charges for the school year. The student and parent are required to review the aid offered and calculate what the student’s balance will be per semester using the calculation worksheet provided.
- The student will have to accept or decline their awards along with reading, understanding, and signing the conditions of acceptance on the back of the award letter.
- Award letters are subject to change due to outside scholarships, grants, or change in living arrangements (e.g. Elk club scholarship, cal grant A or B, from on-campus to off, etc.). Revised award letters will be generated and sent after the changes have been made.
Continuing Students:
- The Office of Financial Aid will begin processing award packages upon receipt of a completed a FAFSA application, a Financial Aid Information Request Form, and if needed, any other documentation.
- An award letter will be generated in the summer and sent to the permanent address on file. In addition to the letter, there will be a calculation sheet and a list of charges for the school year. The student and parent are required to review the aid offered and calculate what the student’s balance will be per semester using the calculation worksheet provided.
- The student will have to accept or decline their awards along with reading, understanding, and signing the conditions of acceptance on the back of the award letter. If the student is allowed to log into their my.whittier.edu account in the summer, they might be able to accept and decline their awards online.
