Campus Visits - Make the Most of Them

You’ve no doubt heard from many people that “the best way to choose a college is to visit, then you’ll know.” Yeah, right, you think to yourself. How am I going to know which college is going to offer the mix of teaching, learning, advising, and activities that is right for me. What questions should I be asking and how should I evaluate the answers to those questions?

We know just the tool to help you make the most of your campus visits. It is a handy little pocket-sized guidebook that gives you a list of questions to ask during your campus visits. Published by the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), the guide lists a series of questions, based upon a rigorous research protocol, that point the way to programs, offerings and expectations that will most likely lead to student success.

Great, you say, if only I had a copy of the guide book.

That’s easy! Go to http://nsse.iub.edu to find out more about the project or request a copy of the brochure directly from NSSE. We know that you and your parents will find this a tremendously valuable tool for helping you make sense of campus visits.
