The Best of Whittier
A favorite question of many prospective students is: "What’s your best department?" Understandably, that is a question admission folk hate to answer, for without knowing the criteria to be used there is no answer. For example, for some students “best” department means the one with the largest enrollment. For others, "best" means the department that has the lowest faculty:student ratio. And for still others, "best" is determined by the number of students within a department immediately going on to graduate school, while a classmate might value more the number going into the Peace Corps.
So we aren't going to answer that question. In fact, we are only going to give you a taste of some of the best of Whittier in a potpourri of categories that reflect the breadth and depth of our academic program, as well as the very personal and human component that makes Whittier a great place.
