Meet the Authors Bookfaire at the Shannon Center

Meet great authors, discuss books with other book lovers, and enjoy lunch on stage at the annual "Meet the Authors and Bookfaire" event on March 29, from 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts, Whittier College, 6760 Painter Ave., Whittier, CA 90608. Admission is $50 with lunch, $35 without lunch. Opening keynote speaker is Lisa See, author of Peony in Love, a novel about three well educated young women who lived in 17th-century China. Judith Freeman, author of The Long Embrace: Raymond Chandler and the Woman He Loved, will close the event.
Other featured authors include Naomi Hirahara, winner of the 2007 Edgar Award for Best Paperback Original Novel; Lee Silber, author of Time Management for the Creative Person; Karen Stabiner, editor of The Empty Nest: 31 Parents Tell the Truth About Relationships, Love and Freedom After the Kids Fly the Coop; Joe Cepeda, children's book illustrator; Lori Lansens, author of Rush Road Home; and Elizabeth Pomeroy, author of Lost and Found: Historic and Natural Landmarks of the San Gabriel Valley.
This program is a fundraising event for the Friends of the Shannon Center.
