Backpack-to-Briefcase (B2B) Program
The Office of Career Planning and the Office of Alumni Relations have teamed up to continue our series of special workshops throughout the school year, with a goal to not only enable students to learn and develop practical career skills, but also to explore diverse career paths. The series will showcase a few of our Whittier College alumni professionals, who will serve as volunteer mentors and workshop leaders.
All events in the B2B Program will take place in the Dezember Alumni House. A 6:45p.m. reception begins each event, enabling students to meet and network with alumni and other invited guests as well as practice their business skills. The formal program begins at 7p.m. and lasts approximately one hour.
The theme for the 2010-2011 Series will be "Exploring Careers in...", covering a variety of professional fields, and featuring discussions on how to choose a “relevant” major; how important is a minor; critical professional skills development to find and secure that first job; and the true benefits of internship/work experience during the undergraduate years.
Our first event in the 2010-2011 series will be:
