Affording College
While the cost of higher education is significant, the value of that education is undeniable, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of learning and professional involvement.
Whittier’s Office of Financial Aid stands ready to assist students and their families in addressing the financial issues that arise in paying for a college education. In addition to administering an extensive series of scholarship programs (Whittier College awarded over $10 million in aid last year), the Office of Financial Aid also helps students apply for federal and state loan programs, while also engaging in general financial planning for the students’ families.
Most students pay for college using a combination of grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study assignments, and helping families arrive at a financial aid package that meets each student’s need is something at which our staff excels.
