Whittier College is proud of its sizeable Latino population, and the Hispanic Student Association (HSA) is very active in promoting Latino issues and culture through different social events, field trips, and speakers from the community. In addition, HSA does outreach into the surrounding area through community service and mentoring college-bound students.

HSA has played a key role in implementing the annual Latino Graduation Celebration, held a few days prior to Whittier College's formal Commencement Ceremony, and featuring student and guest speakers and cultural performance. HSA also annually participates in the coordination of specialized events, such as Tardeada—an intergenerational gathering that includes activities and entertainment honoring Hispanic heritage.

By popular vote, the Hispanic Student Association was named the 2007 Outstanding Student Organization on campus.
