Class Giving Program
Every building and program on campus was built or is now sustained through the generous gifts of Whittier College alumni. As a privately funded liberal arts college, loyal alumni contribute each and every year to make sure there is always support for the next generation of talented undergraduates.
During five year reunion cycles, Reunion Class Committees are recruited to lend vibrant leadership in these ways:
- foster greater class unity and involvement;
- encourage classmates to make a gift to the Whittier Fund;
- encourage classmates who give regularly to increase their support;
- be a source of information about current Whittier College strengths and needs;
- personally contact as many members of the class as possible.
These important alumni volunteers are involved with efforts to boost both the total dollar contributions and alumni participation in the Whittier Fund. The staff in the Office of Advancement supports and applauds their efforts; coordinating mailings, updates and other information throughout the year.
Beginning with the newest alumni - our graduating seniors - contributing to their Senior Class Gift, alumni who give annually will be eligible to join the Faithful Friends, the recognition society for donors who contribute 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or more consecutive years to the College.
