Spiritual Associations

A student receives ashes as part of an ecumenical Ash Wednesday service, coordinated by the Newman Club. With its roots as a Quaker college, Whittier today offers students of all faiths the opportunity to bond with others who share their religious conviction. Students are also provided the chance to explore and debate the beliefs, history, the place of religion in modern society, in particular on a college campus and the often politicization of religious sects.
