What is the Senior Class Gift?
The Senior Class Gift allows graduating seniors an opportunity to invest in the future of Whittier College. It helps to build class unity, identity, and spirit. Contributing to the Senior Class Gift gives members of the Class of 2008 a chance to thank Whittier College for all it has offered and instills a sense of loyalty and pride.
The Senior Class Gift provides an opportunity for undergraduates to leave their "mark" and to give something back to Whittier College. It establishes the Class of 2008 as a prominent force propelling the Whittier Fund, now and in the future. By making a commitment, graduating seniors are helping to ensure a great Whittier College experience for future generations of deserving students.
What are the benefits of giving?
Gifts from members of the Class of 2008 will increase alumni donor participation, enabling Whittier College to achieve a higher national ranking, increasing the value of the degree, and attracting more corporate and foundation gifts.
- Students may not realize it, but Whittier College alumni have had a signficiant impact on the life of current undergraduates. Tuition covers 80% of what it actually costs to educate a Whittier College student. Members of the Class of 2008 have benefited from the generosity of Whittier's alumni in the form of financial aid, scholarships, and enhanced student life.
- Gifts to the Whittier Fund make a difference in the every day life of students. These vital contributions help keep tuition affordable, upgrade equipment and technology, and improve the overall campus experience.
