Poets Laureate
The Poets Laureate include alumni, parents, friends, foundations, corporations and other organizations that have completed charitable commitments totaling at least $1,000,000 to Whittier College. Because of the transformational nature of their philanthropy and their belief in the College and its unique position in American higher education, the Poets Laureate are accorded our highest recognition:
- Listing on a Poets Laureate wall display in prominent campus venue;
- A signature Poet Laureate lapel pin;
- Limited edition, custom made Poet Laureate bookends;
- Each year, the President’s Selection of a book by a Whittier College faculty member, distinguished alumnus/a, visiting scholar or dignitary, chosen by the president of Whittier College and inscribed by the author;
- An annual dinner at Wardman House, the home of Whittier College’s president, with a presentation by the author of the President’s Selection.
