Gifts through a Will, Living Trust or IRA
Adding Whittier to your living trust or will is one of the easiest ways to make a significant gift to the College. These gifts represent the primary source of endowment contributions to the College and are tremendously important to its continued success as a nationally-recognized liberal arts institution.
A statement in your living trust or will is all that is necessary and, in many cases, you can simply add a codicil to an existing document. While this type of gift creates no immediate income tax benefits, it will be 100% deductible for estate tax purposes.
Bequests work particularly well for those who are unable to make an immediate outright gift, but who would like to provide for the College‘s future while leaving a legacy.
Should you decide to make a provision for Whittier College in your will or living trust, please let us know. We will be sure to recognize your support of the College as a member of the Philadelphians.
Here are some examples of language you can use when making a gift by will or revocable trust to Whittier College.
