Advisory Councils

Breadcrumb

Two principal groups comprise the College's advisory councils: the Alumni Association Board and the President's Executive Advisors Council.

Alumni Association Board

The Alumni Association Board is the elected representative body for the Alumni Association and is composed of about 30 Whittier College alumni. The Board has an executive branch of officers who regularly meet during the year to discuss issues and initiatives affecting the welfare of the Association in general; the operating relationship between the Alumni Relations Office, the Board, and the Association; and the Association's integration with and support of College events and business.

Alumni, Poet parents, and friends of the College make up the President's Executive Advisory. Members are invited to join the Council by the College President and commit to serve a three-year term.

The Poet Council

The Poet Council is a small, action-oriented group of advisors to Whittier College’s President, leadership team, and the Office of Development. The Council is composed of visionary, well-connected volunteers with diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and professional expertise who share an interest in higher education and especially in promoting Whittier College. Poet Council members extend the capacity and reach of the Board of Trustees, the President, and other College leaders. They serve as enthusiastic ambassadors in networking, active collaborators in developing partnerships, faithful donors, and trusted advisors on strategic issues.
