The following is a list of major events that the Office of Student Activities assists with that are held annually. There are many more events that take place during the year that are too numerous to list. Check out the online Campus Calendar for more information.

Southern California Highlights Bus Trips-
Student Activities along with the Office of Residential Life, sponsors transportation once a month to various locations in Southern California. Click here to see the Bus Trips planned for Fall 2006.  Call the Office of Student Activities at x4986 to reserve your spot! Space can be limited. (Some trips may require you to purchase your own tickets)

Activities Fair and All Campus BBQ-On the first day of classes in the Fall, all clubs, organizations, and societies set up a booth to advertise their organization to Whittier students. All students are encouraged to be involved on campus and this event enables them to see what organizations are available to join. In addition, there is live music and food.

Homecoming (Whittier Weekend)-Program Board, along with the Office of Student Activities, and Alumni Relations, sponsor the Homecoming activities.  The Homecoming Dance, the Bonfire, the half-time show, the post-game carnival, and nominations for Homecoming Court are all annual events held during Homecoming week.  Show your POET spirit and support Whittier’s Homecoming festivities!

Sportsfest-
One of the largest events on campus where students compete in various events (like in the Olympics). Events range from volleyball to backgammon to swimming to giant twister. There is also a service component to the competition, which includes the annual Blood Drive. Teams are formed to represent different residential areas of campus, as well as off-campus and Aspect. Besides being competitive, Sportsfest is fun! Sportsfest takes place in the fall semester for a duration of three days. Download the 2005 playbook here.

Casino Night-This annual event is sponsored by The Club Staff and held during Janterm. All students are invited to come and try their hand at BlackJack, Craps, and Roulette. Win prizes (not money) and even a trip to Las Vegas!

Luminarias-In the spring semester Program Board coordinates this event for all students. The event is a Whittier's Spring formal dance and dinner. The event has been held in various locations such as the Disneyland Hotel, the Queen Mary and at the Hyatt Regency at Huntington Beach. Tickets are sold in the C.I. Hallway and the Mailroom prior to the event.

Spring Festival-This event is held at the end of Spring semester and sponsored by Program Board. Participate in carnival games and contests, play on inflatables, listen to live music, and eat free food!

Spring Sing-This event is a chance for student groups to compete against one another for prize money in lip sync, dance, and live singing categories. It is held in the Harris Amphitheater and everyone is invited to come and watch their friends show their stuff.

(STAR) Student Awards Recognition Banquet-This awards banquet is to honor those students that have shown leadership and exceptional dedication to Whittier College through participation in clubs, societies, and organizations on campus. The event takes place in late Spring semester after all active clubs and organizations nominate those they feel should receive the award.
