It’s easy to get involved at Whittier! Whittier College has over 60
active student organizations, club sports and honoraries. Organizations
focus on a wide variety of topics—from community service to politics,
from religion to music, and from diversity to academics and sports.
If there doesn’t seem to be an organization that meets your interests,
the Office of Student Activities is eager to help you establish one. The
following clubs were active this past academic year.
Anthropology Club
The members of the Anthropology Club promote an understanding and
appreciation for cultural diversity to the student body and faculty of
Whittier College through educational, social and community activities.
Anime Ikkimasu
The members of this club are interested in Japanese Animation (Anime)
and the continual exposure of Japanese culture to the masses through
that animation.
Artorian Order Of The Knights Of Pendragon (AOKP)
A Renaissance revivalist club with a passion for excellence, the AOKP is
a highly interactive role-playing experience. If you have any questions,
ask someone carrying a dagger. Daeru Caerna!
Art Club
The members of the Art Club provide an opportunity for students to learn
about and experience the culture and art scene of Los Angeles and the
surrounding areas.
Biology Club
The members of the Biology Club associate themselves to provide an
intellectually stimulating environment for those interested in the
biological sciences through educational and social activities.
Circle K
Community Service! Leadership skills! New Friends! If any or all of
these things appeal to you, then you should join Circle K. Circle K is
not only an international service organization, it is also a social club
where students meet people from different colleges and have fun at the
same time.
Coalition of Activist Leaders (C.O.A.L.)
The members of C.O.A.L. associate themselves to abolish apathy through
political activism, raising awareness via student led discussions,
networking with other community based social justice groups, and
providing channels of communication and expression for students
concerned about social injustice.
Consulting Club
Interested in pursuing a career in consulting? Join this organization
and network with other students who are reaching for the same goals and
meet professional consultants who work in a variety of fields.
Economics Club
Students interested in economics are encouraged to join the club.
Activities include attending informal sessions on MBA programs, inviting
professionals to talk about their concerns and inviting Whittier College
economics alumni to the campus.
International Relations Club
The International Relations Club is determined to foster and promote the
ideals of freedom and justice for all peoples of the world, to help
erase the inequalities of standards of living of the various peoples of
the world, to study the methods used by the United Nations to attain the
goals of the Charter of the United Nations, and to affirm our belief in
the Charter of the United Nations as the means to a peaceful and
prosperous world.
Les Copians (French Club)
The French Club promotes French language and culture to both French
speakers and non-speakers. Activities focus on film screenings, cuisine,
music and dance.
Poet Democrats Club
The Democratic Club is an organization involved in various political
issues. Activities include campaign work, debates, conventions and
social events.
Photography Club
The Photography Club promotes photography as art on Whittier Campus. The
club participates in museum outings and fundraising activities. In
addition, there is an on-campus darkroom for club member use.
Psychology Club
The Psychology Club brings together students with an interest in
psychology to participate in social and educational activities.
Reaching Equality and Diversity (READ)
READ help to keep the Whittier community informed on world events and
issues, looking especially at human rights issues and international
crisis, through forum of the internet.
Richard M. Nixon Republican Club
The Richard M. Nixon Republican Club seeks to promote the Republican
party values on the Whittier College campus and in the community. Club
activities include holding political rallies, hosting guest speakers and
fundraisers, registering voters, and serving as invaluable volunteers to
local and statewide campaigns. We continually aim to foster, publicize
and sustain the conservative agenda through political action and
involvement, with the hopes of increasing awareness and party
dedication.

Society of Physics Students
The purpose of this chapter is the advancement and diffusion of
knowledge of the science of physics and the encouragement of student
interest in physics.
Spanish Club
The Spanish Club consists of a group of students who have a common love
for the Spanish language and engage in activities that explore various
aspects of Spanish-speaking cultures.
Students for Community Medicine
The members of Students for Community Medicine hope to: increase the
number of students who commit themselves to working in medical and
health science fields in underserved populations; provide and maintain
on and off campus networking opportunities; and assist in the retention
of underrepresented minorities as well as other students throughout
their academic career at Whittier College.
Table Tennis Club
This club seeks to bring together those with interests in Table Tennis.
Whittier College Choir
The college choir is an auditioned group of students from a variety of
majors who are drawn together by the love of music. The choir performs a
yearly Cabaret Night, Christmas Madrigal Feaste, and Bach Festival. The
choir also performs an annual spring tour and includes various smaller
groups such as a chorale, handbells and a barbershop quartet.
