A Look At: Study Abroad

When Deyla Curtis '12 spent the summer interning at the U.N. in Geneva, she got to see firsthand how that international body worked – an exciting capstone to her four years immersed in politics and humanitarian issues with Whittier’s Model U.N. chapter. Arranged by her Professor Mike McBride, the internship gave Deyla the chance to attend U.N. committee meetings and work on documents impacting people around the world. Her adventure abroad continued with a semester studying in the French city of Grenoble. With these remarkable experiences, and her on-campus involvement at Whittier in the Sachsen Society, Student Senate, and International Relations Club, Deyla’s worldview is anything but provincial.
