What do I need to know to be helpful?

1. The job market is volatile and hard to predict.

2. Computer skills continue to be highly sought after.

3. Gaining experience is key to job search success:
Students can gain valuable experience through internships, summer employment related to career goals, volunteering, and gaining leadership in on-campus clubs and activities related to their field.

4. Most jobs are international in some respect.

5. Job seeking methods have changed, but not really.

6. The earlier students start searching, the better:
Whittier
studies indicate that students who begin the job search process in early fall obtain more job success and higher salaries than those who wait to begin the process in the spring semester.
