Mr. Ted Young
ABC Retail
100 N. Kellogg Street
Anytown, USA  90000

Dear Mr. Young:

I am writing to inquire about the status of my application for the Management Trainee position with ABC Retail.  My resume was sent to you in response to our conversation at the USC Career Fair on January 28th.

I am very interested in the position and feel that my liberal arts degree, business management classes and prior retail sales management experience make me a strong candidate.

Please let me know if you need any further information.  I look forward to hearing from you regarding an interview.

Sincerely,

(signature)

Sara A. Ryan
