Studies show that students who engage early and often in their college learning and career development have a greater likelihood of early and sustained career success.
With this in mind, consider the Career Center team a key partner in your career success. During your first 90 days on campus, set-up a coaching session with your career counselor to learn how to create and implement your four-year career development plan.
It is easier than you think to take your first steps as an emerging professional. Here are three things you can do in less than a week:
Use career assessment tools to identify career interests
Create an accomplishment-focused resume
Identify three career development internships
And, try to accomplish these goals during your first semester:
Get to know your academic and career counselors and advisors
Identify leadership opportunities in student government, clubs, and organizations
Land an on-campus job
Register for a career development and planning course
