Study Spaces

The Wardman Library building at Whittier College offers students a variety of spaces to meet your study needs. In addition to cozy couches ready for an inspirational catnap, large tables with AC power, Internet connections, and individual study lamps, and a Media viewing station for larger groups, the library also offers the following study space options:

Peace & Quiet:
If you seek a quiet, distraction-free area, find a study carrel on the main floor of the library building. Study carrels provide individuals with private workspaces, each complete with AC power and Internet connections. Some of our study carrels also serve as individual viewing stations for library media. Headphones are available for checkout at the circulation desk.

If you want to study with friends:
Try a Study Room! Located on the Mezzanine and 2nd floor level, Wardman Library’s study rooms are great locations to brainstorm, share ideas, and work in large groups. All study rooms are Internet and media-ready and have dry erase boards. Dry erase markers and erasers are available for checkout at the circulation desk.

After hours:
Whittier College students are welcome to study into the wee hours of the night in the Late Nite Study Area, located on the ground floor of the library building. Current Whittier College student IDs are required for entry. PCs, printing, study carrels, couches, rest rooms and vending machines for late night snacking are available.

To promote a safe and secure environment, Campus Safety regularly patrols the area. Please call Campus Safety, ext. 4211, if you need after hours assistance.

A quick word on Food and Drink:
Wardman Library welcomes students to enjoy food and beverages within the library building. However, please clean up after you are done with your feast.
