Whittier College and Broadoaks School students joined people across the world in celebrating the United Nations International Day of Peace. An annual tradition on the Whittier College campus, the celebration of peace was led by children from The Broadoaks School and members of OMEP-Whittier College. Two brief celebrations were held in the Campus Center Courtyard and included the formation of a Circle of Peace, a moment of silence and reflection, and the singing of A Song of Peace. Middle school students sang a Spanish version of the song under the direction of Professor Doreen O’Connor Gomez and Elsa Lozano. Children from The Broadoaks School also shared their own Peace Means to Me statements.
