We know
that managing the financial investment you will make in
your education at Whittier College is of prime concern for
students and their families. The Office of Financial Aid is here to help you with that investment–by
providing information, financial assistance from the
College, coordination of aid from federal and state
resources, access to work and loan programs, and payment
plans to help you make attending Whittier possible.
Is the
investment in a Whittier education a wise one? Absolutely.
We know that:
-
Whittier College graduates have during their lifetimes
much more earning power than high school graduates–most
likely earning more than $2 million during their working
careers;
-
Whittier College students earn their four-year degrees
in just that–four years– unlike students who attend
state universities, where it is often not possible to
take all the courses you need to graduate in four years,
stretching the time invested into five or even six
years, and depriving you of an earlier entry into your
career;
-
At
Whittier, you will study in a setting in which the
typical class has about 20 students and one
professor–not a graduate assistant or lecturer. National
studies consistently demonstrate the greater
effectiveness of smaller classes–after all, if you are
going to commit your best to a college, you certainly
want the college to commit its best to you;
-
At
Whittier, we will help you manage the financial
investment in your education. More than 80 percent of
our students receive some from of financial assistance
from the College.
