Dear Fellow Poets & Families:
Whittier Weekend is just around the corner and I encourage
you to make your arrangements to attend. We are excited
about new events and activities this year
that will appeal to alumni and families alike. For example,
Friday afternoon will feature our new Poet College, led by
favorite faculty members, followed by the President’s
Reception for Families in Mendenhall Lobby. In addition,
some of our popular events have moved to new times during
Whittier Weekend.
In particular, don’t miss the Poet Awards honoring seven
distinguished alumni. Plan to begin your Saturday with this
inspiring breakfast awards program and follow it up with the
latest inside information at President Herzberger’s Whittier
College Town Hall. And, the Poet Football Game vs.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps kicks off at 4:00 p.m., so be
prepared to cheer the Poets on to victory.
Whittier Weekend 2007 is your time to reconnect with the
College and old friends. Just think, someone you knew during
your college days is looking forward
to seeing you once again, and if you aren’t there they will
be disappointed. It’s also an important opportunity for Poet
families to visit campus and see their
students. So make your arrangements today and prepare for a
very special weekend on the Whittier College campus.
If you are coming from out of town, special rates for
Whittier College alumni and families have been arranged with
local hotels, so make sure you make your reservation today.
I’m looking forward to seeing you on campus this October
26-28!
Best wishes,
José Casillas ’87
President, Whittier College Alumni Association
