Welcome,
The purpose of the symposium is to reconnect alumni and
friends to the College and to each other around a public
policy issue of great national importance. I am inviting all
Political Science graduates, as well as others who are
friends of the Department, to consider key themes associated
with port security in the post 9/11 world.
We will benefit from the expertise of college alumni and key
players in the world of transportation and homeland
security. The subjects will be weighty, but the atmosphere
will be one of warm intellectual engagement, built on
creating bonds and strengthening already existing
relationships around a topic of great intellectual and
practical significance.
I extend the warmest Whittier welcome to all.
Warmly,
Frederic A. Bergerson, Ph.D.
