Dr. Fattahi has published a number of articles on group theory, and has tested and
reviewed a variety of mathematical publications and software programs. He also developed a
HyperCard program for course recordkeeping and grading for teachers, and has taught a
variety of programming courses at Whittier College. The second edition of his book, Maple
V Calculus Labs, was published by Brooks/Cole in 1996. He is a member of the American
Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America.
Dr. Fattahi earned a B.S. in mathematics from Tehran University, and M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees in mathematics from the University of Chicago.

was associate editor of the Stanford Law Review. She is the

FURMAN-ADAMS, WENDY

In addition to courses within her areas of particular expertise-Medieval literature,
Renaissance literature and literature of the Restoration and eighteenth century-Dr.
Furman-Adams has taught courses in such diverse areas as critical theory, literature of
the Bible, and East Asian literature. She has produced a number of articles,
reviews and conference papers in two major areas of interest: English Nativity poetry from
about 900 to 1750, and Milton studies, with particular emphasis on gender and the visual
arts. She has co-edited two books, Renaissance Rereadings: Intertext and Context
and Riven Unities: Authority and Experience, Self and Other in Milton's Poetry, and
is currently working on a critical biography of Mary Groom, a twentieth-century
illustrator and feminist interpreter of Paradise Lost.
Dr. Furman-Adams received a B.A. from California State University, Los Angeles, an M.A.
from California State University, Long Beach, and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern
California.
