PADDY,
DAVID IAN

Paddy's area of specialty is 20th-century literature, especially postmodernism and
contemporary British literature. He has written about Angela Carter, Jeff Noon
and Curtis White and is particularly interested in the expression of British
national identity in literature. His recent research is on Black British
literature and culture.
Paddy earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies at Miami University, a master's degree at
American University, and a doctorate at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Palmer has been
working in theatre for more than 25 years as a lighting designer, scenic
designer, technical director, production manager, theatre manager and
theatre owner. He has been managing Whittier College’s Ruth B. Shannon
Center since 1991, and currently books a full season of classical music,
cabaret acts, family entertainment and, most notably, Hawaiian music. He
continues to freelance as a professional lighting designer and is resident
lighting designer with Shakespeare Orange County.
He earned B.A., M.A. and M.F.A. degrees from California State University
at Long Beach.

Patton, who has served as
assistant and associate dean of Whittier Law School as well as a deputy state public
defender in Los Angeles, was the founding director of the Whittier Center for
Children's Rights. His areas of specialization include juvenile justice, child
abuse and neglect, torts and trial advocacy, in which he has written more than
20 law review articles.
He received his B.A. from California State University, Long
Beach, and his M.A. and J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Peeler teaches classes in contracts, the comparative legal systems, torts and
criminal law. Peeler is director of the LL.M. Program in U.S. legal studies and
Whittier's Street Law Program.
He holds a
B.A. and J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was associate editor
of the Ecology Law Quarterly, and a J.S.M. from Stanford University, where he is a Ph.D.
candidate.
PHELPS, JR.,

Phelps engaged in private practice as a corporate and securities lawyer. He served as a
law clerk with the United States Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit, was a member of the
Yale Law Journal. His subjects include Constitutional law, corporations and securities
regulations. Phelps received B.A. degrees from North Dakota State University and
Universiteit te Leuven in Belgium, an M.A. from the University of Washington and a J.D.
from Yale University.
He also holds an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los
Angeles.

Poskovic has been directing the Print Media Program at Whittier since 1997. A
native of Sarajevo, Bosnia, he previously taught at Nordmore Folkehog Skole in
Norway, State University of New York, Daemen College, Ball State University,
California State University, Long Beach, and has been a visiting artist and
speaker at more than 30 universities in the United States and abroad. His prints
have been exhibited in more than 200 individual and group venues, including
major print exhibitions in countries ranging from Australia to Wales and points
in between. Recent international exhibitions include Noah's Art: Animals in
Prints and Drawings at the New Orleans Museum of Art; 12. Deutsche
Internationale Grafik Triennale at Kunstverein zu Frechen E.V., Germany; and the
23rd Ljubljana International Biennial of Graphic Art.
He has received more than 60 awards for his work including grants and
fellowships from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Kala Art Institute, Valparaiso
Foundation, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Robert Maxwell Fellowship,
Jerome Foundation, Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, MacDowell Colony, Flemish
Ministry of Culture-Frans Masereel Center, Norwegian Government-Memorial
Foundation, Camargo Foundation, Art Matters Foundation, Mary Anderson Center,
New York State Council on the Arts, Indiana Arts Commission, and Blue Mountain
Center. His work is also included in more than 100 museum and gallery
collections.
Poskovic has a diploma in fine arts from the Sarajevo School of Applied Arts, a
B.F.A. from the Sarajevo Academy of Fine Arts, and an M.F.A. from the State
University of New York at Buffalo. He also did post-graduate work in Norway.
PRICE,
JOSEPH L.

Dr. Price's area of expertise is relationships between sports, ritual and religion, and he
gives frequent talks on religion and American football. He is the editor of the
collection of essays, From season to Season: Sports as American Religion,
(Mercer University Press, 2001). Some of his other
publications include numerous essays and two theological resources - A New Handbook of
Christian Theology, A New Handbook of Christian Theologians, both co-edited with
Donald W. Musser. Dr. Price served as a faculty master at Whittier College for six
years, living on the college campus with his family and hosting thousands of guests for
cultural and educational programs.
Dr. Price holds a B.A. from Georgetown College, an M.Div. from
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the Divinity School at
the University of Chicago.
