WAGNER, JUDITH T.

Dr. Wagner is a recent Fulbright research scholar and a popular speaker and workshop presenter throughout the United States and Europe.  She specializes in improving education and family life through greater understanding of child development. She focuses on learning and social development in the early childhood and elementary school years.  She holds credentials in preschool, elementary and secondary education, and has taught at all levels, from preschool to university.

Since 1984, Dr. Wagner has directed the Broadoaks Children's School at Whittier College, one of the nation's oldest and most respected demonstration schools. She chaired the California Department of Education's Early Education Coordinating Committee and the subcommittee on Developmentally Appropriate Practices. She was a Rockefeller Scholar for advanced study of constructivist approaches in preschool through sixth grade at the High/Scope Education Research Foundation, and she has written many articles on education, child development and family life for books, magazines and newspapers. Her current research projects focus on ethnic identity development and its relationships to the social experiences of majority and minority children.  She also studies the effects of catastrophes such as 9-11 upon children who are not directly involved.

Dr. Wagner earned an M.A. in education from the University of Toledo, and a Ph.D. in child development and teacher education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Welkowitz is on the faculty of the Center for Intellectual Property law. He is an internationally known expert on trademark dilution. He is also an expert in civil procedure, Constitutional law, federal courts and unfair trade practices. He holds a B.A. from Princeton University and a J.D. from New York University.

In addition to being associate dean, Robert Scott Wylie is the John FitzRandolph Director of Clinics at Whittier Law School. Dean Wylie is the immediate past vice-president of the State Bar of California, a member of the board of its charitable foundation, and the former chairperson of its legal services section. Before joining the law school, he was executive director and general counsel for the Public Law Center, the pro bono program of the Orange County Bar Association, on whose board he also sits. Dean Wylie has extensive experience working with all forms of the media and has published and lectured frequently on issues involving children's rights, poverty law,
and legal ethics.

He received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign.
