Grupo de Teatro SINERGIA Brings Spanish Language Comedy to the Stage
WHITTIER, CA (SEPTEMBER 19, 2006) – Grupo de Teatro SINERGIA will perform Rosa de Dos Aromas (A Rose by Any Other Names) Tuesday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m., Robinson Theatre, Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts, 6760 Painter Ave. $5. (562) 907-4203 or www.shannoncenter.org.
The comedy features Ingrid Marquez and Ludo Vika as two very different women who find common ground in their womanhood. Rosa de Dos Aromas is written by Emilio Carballido and directed by Ruben Amavizcamurcia.
Los Angeles-based Grupo de Teatro SINERGIA is a bilingual theatrical performance troupe committed to bringing theater to the Latino community. The troupe’s performances often address social issues. SINERGIA also gives actors, directors and playwrights the opportunity to mount productions of their work.
SINERGIA works out of the William Reagh Los Angeles Photography Center, near MacArthur Park, where they not only perform but give lessons to the public. The center also houses the Frida Kahlo Theatre.
