Shannon Center Aloha Series Opens Aug. 23
Keoki Kahumoku, Herb Ohta, Jr., David Kamakahi, Patrick Landeza and special guest Dennis Kamakahi will open the Aloha Series at the Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23.
The concert caps an afternoon luau and fund-raising auction that will benefit the Friends of the Shannon Center. Tickets for the luau and auction are sold out, however, tickets are still available for the evening concert.
Concert tickets are $35 each and are available in advance by calling the Shannon Center at (562) 907-4203. They will also be available at the Box Office up until show time, according to David Palmer, Shannon Center production coordinator. “Most of these artists have appeared at the Shannon Center during the 10 years of our Hawaiian series,” Palmer said, “but this will be the first time that all of them have appeared on stage here together. This is going to be a wonderful show featuring the best of Hawaiian music’s next generation.”
