ADD: Adachi has recreated famous photographs of memorable events from the 1960s and '70s into dioramas created with toy trolls in the roles of the main protagonists. Among the events depicted are Jack Ruby shooting Lee Harvey Oswald, John Kennedy Jr. saluting his father's flag-draped coffin, the Kent State massacre and the fall of Saigon. Adachi explores society's relationship to these images-encoded into our culture's collective memory by their extensive exposure in journals, magazines, newspapers and books-and wonders if the images have taken the emotional place of the events they depict.
