Poetry reading by Tony Barnstone, assistant professor of English

WHAT: Poetry reading by Tony Barnstone, assistant professor of English
WHEN: Monday, November 1, 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Johnson Faculty Master House, Whittier College, On Philadelphia St., just east of Painter Ave.
COST: Free
ADD: Tony Barnstone, writer and assistant professor of English, will give a reading of his own works of poetry, as well as his many translations of poetry.

Barnstone's books include one of his personal poetry, Impure, as well as translations including Out of the Howling Storm: The New Chinese Poetry, Laughing Lost in the Mountains: The Poems of Wang Wei, The Art of Writing: Teachings of the Chinese Masters and Literatures of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Called honest, lyrical and magical, Barnstone gains much of his writing material from the many places he has lived, including China, Greece, Kenya and Spain.
