Whittier College's first-ever Helping Hands Day will bring together a volunteer group of students, faculty and staff to help beautify the campus while promoting community spirit on Saturday, April 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The volunteers will plant new trees and roses bushes and otherwise enhance the look of the college. They will be treated to lunch and a Helping Hands Day t-shirt for their efforts.

Dave Leonard, associate dean of students, coordinated the project and will lead part of the group in planting 35 new rose bushes in front of Wardman Residence Hall from 9:30 a.m. to about 10:30 a.m.

Located 18 miles east of Los Angeles, Whittier College is an independent, four-year college offering traditional liberal arts majors and strong pre-professional programs taught in the context of the liberal arts. Whittier Law School, which is accredited by the American Bar Association and the Association of American Law Schools, is located on a separate campus in Costa Mesa.
