ADD: The acclaimed California Theatre Center presents "The Most Valuable Player: The Jackie Robinson Story," a classic tale of baseball for the entire family.

Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play Major League baseball when he started for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. His story of courage and sacrifice is sure to uplift the spirit.

"The Most Valuable Player" is the most recent in a long line of acclaimed family productions brought to the Shannon Center by The California Theatre Center, which have included "Cinderella," "Brer Rabbit" and "The Nightingale."
