U.S. Treasurer to Speak at Whittier College Commencement

WHAT:                       Rosario Marin, United States Treasurer, will give the keynote
                            address at Whittier College’s 100th commencement.


WHEN:                       9:00 a.m., Friday, May 23, on the football field.


WHERE:                 Whittier College

ADD:                           Marin is one of five people who will receive honorary degrees from Whittier College during the ceremonies that will also see 269 seniors graduating and 28 candidates receiving their master’s degrees. 

Also receiving honorary degrees are Charles Johnson, author of “Middle Passage” and “Dreamer”; Alice Newsom, community leader and wife of the late W. Roy Newsom, former president of Whittier College; Daniel Schorr, award-winning broadcast journalist; and Lisbeth Schorr, author, educator, and child and family policy analyst.
