Whittier College Wind Ensemble in concert



WHAT: Whittier College Wind Ensemble in concert

Thursday, March 25 at 12:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The Memorial Chapel at Whittier College,

COST: Free

ADD: The Whittier College Wind Ensemble, directed by Christopher Palas, has performed favorite marches, original compositions and transcriptions from the classical and jazz repertoire, and music from the big band era, as well as scores from Broadway and film.

This time around, the ensemble will provide listeners with an evening of the pleasures of fine music when they perform Johann Sebastian Bach's "Prelude" and "Gloria," Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "The Impresario Overture," Gustav Holst's "Moorside March," David Holsinger's "On a Southern Hymnsong," Timothy Broege's "America Verses," Karl King's "Hosts of Freedom" and Robert Sheldon's "Danse Celestiale."

A reception in Arnold Hall will follow the Wind Ensemble's evening performance.
