The planned state-of-the-art redesign of the Science & Learning Center will include the additions of media-ready classrooms, flexible teaching laboratories, research wet and dry laboratories, collaboration pods, and a rooftop colloquia, among other facilities.

HISTORY

  • Dedicated June 8, 1968 on the former Hadley Field, the five-story Science Center became the largest building on campus.
  • The building was named after John Stauffer, a member of the board of trustees and Stauffer Chemical Company executive.
  • Stauffer donated $250,000 to get the project under way and was instrumental in fundraising for the remainder of the $3.4 million needed for this undertaking.
