The Library has several third generation Apple iPads available for one-day checkout. These must be requested beforehand. Tablets can be renewed up to three times. Overdue fines will be charged at a rate of $10 per day. After three days overdue, the tablets will be declared lost and the borrower will be charged a replacement fee of the original cost of the device. Upon checkout, all tablets come with one protective cover and a charger and cord are available for a separate checkout.
Wardman Library currently has eight Dell Latitude 5491 laptops and eight MacBook Pro laptops, all of which are available for six-hour checkouts. The Dell laptops may be renewed one time but the MacBook laptops cannot be renewed. Overdue fines will be charged at a rate of $25 per hour. After being overdue for 24 hours, laptops will be declared lost and the borrower will be charged a replacement fee for the original cost of the computer. Laptops may not be borrowed overnight. Software updates or technology issues occur time to time and the Library cannot guaranteed all 16 laptops will always be available.
All PC laptops are running Windows 7 Professional and come equipped with Microsoft Office, SPSS, Adobe Design Premium CS5 suite, Firefox, Chrome, and other applications. MacBook Pro laptops have Microsoft Office, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Adobe Design Premium CS6 Suite, Firefox, Chrome, and other standard apps. Each laptop is also configured to print to any Library printer through PaperCut.
When you check out a laptop or iPad for the first time each year, you will need to read and sign our borrower responsibility form at the Circulation Desk. You can find our laptop and tablet lending policies in our Equipment Policies and Borrower Responsibility Agreement.
