“Straight Outta College” Week

The Weingart Center for Career and Professional Development will be hosting Straight Outta College, a week-long event featuring six, hands-on career development training sessions designed to provide students with valuable career skills to help them land the perfect internship and job.

Monday, March 5

  • Careers in the Mental Health Field
    Learn about what the field of mental health entails from Kathy Sullivan of Gerinet Healthcare and Whittier College counselors.

  • Know Your Career Values: Own Them to Succeed!
    Discuss the importance of knowing your self-identity to successfully navigate real-world workspaces.
    2-3:30 p.m.
  • Office of Equity and Inclusion
  • Real-World Job Search Skills: Developing Your Toolkit
    Participate in mock interview, resume reviews, and fine tune your networking skills by practicing with employers.

Tuesday, March 6

  • V.I.P.s on the Rooftop – Mocktail Moments with Very Impressive Poets
    Enjoy drinks on the SLC Rooftop and learn how to appropriately network in a “wine and dine” moment with alumni and real-world employers.

  • Getting Hired in the Real World: Practicing for the Career Expo
    Learn how to network and stand out from the crowd in order to get the connections you want from employers.

    Connect with premier employers and learn about internship and job opportunities.
