For more than 20 years, Associate Professor of Education and Child Development Kathy Ralph helped train future educators at Whittier College. She often partnered with teachers at Broadoaks and local public schools to provide opportunities for students to connect theory and practice, especially in the area of literacy development. Ralph also regularly hosted a children's literature conference that honored award-winning children's authors and provided education workshops for educators.
In May, Ralph, along with Credential Analyst of Education & Child Development Cathy George, retired from the department. George joined the Whittier staff in 1987 and helped countless students achieve their academic goals.
“It has been a wonderful career,” said George. “I have worked with amazing colleagues and students, and not one day in 30 years have wished for any other job.”
Associate Professor Education and Child Development Shannon Stanton said, "We will miss their joyful spirit, smile, and willingness to always help out. They are truly great colleagues."
