The Department of Social Work at Whittier College is a group of students, faculty, and social service agencies committed to personal growth and social justice. As we are learning, we look for ways that we can grow, change, and make a difference in our world.
Our department offers both a major and minor program and is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, which means that we meet the national standards of excellence for baccalaureate social work education. Many of our students continue their growth either in generalist social work practice or in an accredited graduate social work program to obtain their MSW degree. Social work majors may qualify for advanced standing in MSW programs, which reduces the number of required graduate classes. Our students also take advantage of our strong group of social work alumni who are leaders in the profession.
Are you interested in social work and social/economic justice? Is social work the vocation for you? If so, we are saving a place for you as you explore options for your future.
