2016 Honors Convocation Recognizes Outstanding Poets

Honors ConvocationMore than 100 Whittier College students were recognized for their dedication to academics, service, and leadership at the 2016 Spring Honors Convocation held at the Graham Athletics Center last month.

The event acknowledged graduate and undergraduate fellowships recipients, academic achievement awards, scholar athlete awards, departmental awards, as well as service and leadership awards. See a full list of awardees here.

Professor of Mathematics and 2015 Harry W. Nerhood Teaching Excellence Award recipient Jeffrey Lutgen delivered the keynote address "Trinity, Inquiry, Alchemy and the Plague."  Watch his address here

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Darrin Good presented the 2016 recipient of the Nerhood Award, Professor of Political Science Joyce Kaufman. Read more about Kaufman's praise from students and colleagues.
