As we await the process for light of learning, we encourage families to find their seats and enjoy listening to music
This meaningful tradition has taken place for decades and is the formal beginning of the Whittier College experience and send-off

Our peer mentors will lead an energizing activity for your groups to reconnect and take group photos to compete in the group photo challenge
Our Counseling Center and Peer Health Educators will share resources and tips for wellness
Title IX prevention is important at Whittier, learn about bystander intervention and the process
Our student leader and staff panel will offer tips for you to thrive in academics, lead on campus, and navigate the transition with resilience
Lunch will be provided along with lawn games
Our Poets will get an introduction to community standards to better understand their transition to campus regulations and expectations
Join POET 101 faculty for the first class. This session is for those enrolled in POET 101.
Our representative from the Career and Professional Development Office will provide resources for navigating your career choices using your strengths and developing a plan for your career journey
Students in FWPB 100 refer to your course schedule to see the classroom location for FWPB 100, and that is where you will meet for your session with your faculty mentor
At dinner, we will have opportunities for groups to engage and compete for prizes. Our peer mentors will guide you through this getting-to-know-you session to help prepare for the challenge

We have begun a tradition of gathering all new students to sign our historic rock. Come meet your new community around the rock on the lower campus near Painter Ave, and take a class picture
Led by members of the Interfaith America team and our student leaders, we will have an interactive session of bingo to get to know each other
Led by our student leaders, this session will showcase involvement opportunities as Poets so that you can engage in leadership development
We will have our final interactive lunch, followed by our orientation closing. New students, show us your completed orientation survey to get Poet gear

Our athletic department has prepared fun activities for you to participate in. Activities include music by the pool, swim, volleyball, dodgeball, basketball, or wellness activities

Our international programs and CAAS team will help students with their registration finalizations, visa requirements, and more.
