Event Description

Join us for a talk on Decolonizing Higher Education led by Dr. Adebayo Oluwayomi, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at West Chest University of Pennsylvania.

Centered around the ongoing attack on race-based education as well as the movement to reinforce the systems of education that center on whiteness and the Eurocentric/Anglo-American worldview in higher education. This talk engages with the issue by making a case for the decolonization of higher education. It will attempt to answer two critical questions:

  • Why is the project of decolonizing the curriculum in higher education crucial in this present historical moment?
  • What is the role of students in helping to bring about this process?
