Event Description

Relationships During a Pandemic with Professor Chuck Hill

What is important in intimate relationships? How are they maintained while coping with COVID-19, whether you are living together or apart? Join Professor Chuck Hill to learn more about these important factors – with your partners, family members, roommates and friends – and the challenges of maintaining them while coping with COVID-19.

The information in this presentation has come from a cross-cultural study of intimate relationships that Chuck conducted with 30 colleagues around the world. Almost 9,000 individuals participated from nine cultural regions, including men and women in opposite-sex or same-sex relationships, unmarried or married. The study is online in 20 languages and results were published in 2019 by Cambridge University Press in the book Intimate Relationships Across Cultures: A Comparative Study, which is available from Amazon.

Chuck Hill is a Professor of Psychology at Whittier College. He has a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Harvard University and is the 2014 recipient of the Nerhood Teaching Excellence Award.
